Helene Darroze launches a special chicken dinner for two on Sundays

There's roast chicken and then there's Hélène Darroze's roast chicken. The Michelin-starred chef has just launched a six-course roast chicken menu for two, Le Poulet du Dimanche, to be served in her restaurant at the Connaught on Sundays.

And it sounds like a cracking menu. You begin with an amuse bouche of confit egg yolk served with leek and smoked bacon, brioche croutons and parmigiano reggiano emulsion, served in a golden egg. This is followed by chicken consommé, then chicken liver royale served with roasted chicken oyster, langoustine, celeriac and Périgord black truffle.

The main dish is a roasted chicken, sourced from the Tauzin family farm in Les Landes. Depending on the season it's stuffed under the skin with black truffle in winter, morels in spring and ceps in autumn, and served with boudin blanc and “Pommes Paysan”. To finish there's a fresh corn-tortilla served with confit chicken leg.

For dessert, choose from three egg dishes - crème caramel, a floating island perfumed with passion fruit and lemongrass and finally olive oil madeleines (or you can choose all three).

Le Poulet du Dimanche will be available at Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, Carlos Pl, London W1K 2AL every Saturday from 12pm-2pm and Sunday from 12-2pm and 6.30-11pm and will be priced at £95 per couple. For reservations, contact: 020 3147 7200. Keep up with the Connaught's news on Twitter @theconnaught
