It's fair to say that the Edgware Road probably isn't the first place you'd think of dining in some sort of modernist Japanese sky high pub. But that's exactly what's opening there this Spring. KOJAWAN - the name is an amalgam of Korea, Japan and Taiwan - is the brainchild of Bjorn Van Der Horst (Greenhouse, La Noisette, Eastside Inn) and Omar Romero (Rhodes Twenty Four, Rosewood).
They're taking over the dining room on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Metropole, serving up what sounds like an incredible menu:
- rice-sandwiches
- glazed-lobster-dog & sesame-seaweed
- ponzu popcorn prawns & liquorice-fish sauce
- crab-turnip ‘egg cake’
- crispy Shiso leaf bun
- lychee-green tea meringue and sake cream
Oh and they'll be serving drinks like Kirin beer K-slurpys and clay barrel aged cocktails from bespoke airline trollies. C'mon, who wouldn't want to see that?
KOJAWAN will be on soft launch from Monday 28th March until Friday 1st April 2016 inclusive with 50% off food at lunch and dinner. To take advantage you'll have to book on 020 8088 0111. KOJAWAN is at 225 Edgware Road, London, W1T 1QQ. Opening hours will be 11:30am – 01:00am Monday to Sunday. Keep up with their news on Twitter @kojawan
