We're pretty partial to gyoza, so when we hear of a new restaurant called Gyoza bar, it's fair to say that piqued our interest...
This new Covent Garden spot will be serving deep fried, pan fried or steamed gyoza (no surprise there) - with plenty of bar seating around the big open kitchen so you can watch the dumpling creation in action.
Those gyoza include:
- Salmon gyoza - Yuzu coconut chili oil sauce
- Pork gyoza yakimono - Pan fried gyoza, Garlic vinegar, umami soy
- Chicken gyoza yakimono - Pan fried gyoza, Garlic vinegar, umami soy
- Vegetable gyoza - Avocado yuzu salsa
And they'll also have ramen, bao buns (char siu, chicken katsu and katsu pork) and more small plates too (including summer rolls, deep fries prawns with wasabi mayo and more).
Sides include crispy tofu with teriyaki sauce, spring onion and chilli, deep fried salmon katsu on skewers served with wasabi mayo and Japanese summer rolls served with yuzu mayo. Alongside cocktails and wine, there will be plenty of Japanese beer and sake.
Gyoza Bar opens early February 2016 at 63-66 St Martin’s Lane Covent Garden London WC2N 4JS.
