Here's another new opening that went under the radar just before Christmas (thanks to Stephanie Colburn for the heads up). It's called Salut, billed as a "Modern European Restaurant in Islington" but also as " a fusion between Nordic and French with some German influence". It's opened on Essex Road (taking the space of what used to be 3 Course).
Run by two German brothers who have a fair bit of fine dining experience under their belt, we have to say, their menu looks pretty good, including:
- Mussels with Broccoli Espuma and Pea Shoot Salad - £7.90
- Paddock Farm 45 Days Dry Aged Short Horn Beef Steak (9oz) with glazed Kale and La Ratte Potatoes - £19.20
- Pan Fried Filet of Rainbow Trout with our Grandma's Pomeranian Fish Potatoes - £12.80
- Poached Pear with marinated Berries, Nut and Chocolate shavings - £6.20
Salut is open now at 412 Essex Road, London, N1 3PJ. For more on Salut, follow them on Twitter @Salut_London
