Galvin restaurants to launch deluxe pub HOP in Spitalfields

cafeavin

The team behind much-loved London restaurants Galvin have launched HOP in Spitalfields market. Opening in place of Galvin Cafe a vin, Galvin’s HOP will swap wine for beer bringing fresh Pilsner Urquell Tank Beer (served in the same style as at Duck & Rice), a range of craft beers, wine on tap by OW Loeb and an entirely new menu featuring classic pub dishes as well as a range of premium hot dogs.

The menu at HOP will feature pub dishes and it's been designed by Chris and Jeff Galvin. There are some great sounding dishes including:.

  • Hop rarebit - £3.00
  • Galvin Gala pie - £7.50
  • Caramalised onion & smoked anchovy flat bread - £9.00
  • 8oz Herdwick PDO Barnsley chop - £17.00
  • Ratte potatoes & N’duja - £3.50
  • Sticky Meedjool date pudding - £5.00

You can see that full menu here - and the takeaway menu here. That takeaway menu has a range of ‘Luxe Dogs’, a range of gourmet hot dogs available to eat in or take-away served with a range of Maille mustards (and they'll also have bacon rolls and pastries to take away for breakfast).

The space is due to be entirely refurbished with a new semi-open kitchen installed as well as space being made for four large copper Pilsner Urquell tanks which will be positioned above the bar. Once open, the new kitchen will also serve as a development kitchen for all other Galvin restaurants.

HOP will open at 35 Spital Square, London E1 6DY 20 January 2016. Follow Galvin Restaurants on twitter @Galvin_brothers.
