Last night, Hot Dinners popped along to The Shard for our first official Christmas party of the season. The do was to launch Vivienne Westwood's Christmas tree at aqua shard, which is part of a wider partnership the designer has entered into with the restaurant.
So in addition to the whopping 18 foot tree (and to tie in with the rainforest charity Cool Earth which Vivienne supports) there's also a special chocolate dessert (pictured), a Johnnie Walker Blue Label chocolate cocktail and limited edition chocolate bars on sale (£3.95) made from cacao grown by Asháninka communities in Peru - all of which are being used to raise money for the charity.
As for this dessert, the restaurant's pastry chefs have used Cool Earth's organic chocolate to make a chocolate mousse with popping candy, pistachio parfait with soft meringue, plum marshmallow with sherbet, a mulled wine jelly and cranberry cream (£8).
The dessert, cocktail and chocolate bars are all available now at Aqua Shard, 31, The Shard, 31 St Thomas St, London SE1 9RY until 31 December.
