18/11 - updated with re-opening date

Once billed as a long-term pop-up, Soho's Shackfuyu (by Bone Daddies) is about to get a lot more long-term as it prepares to become a permanent fixture in Soho. The restaurant is closing until mid November and when it re-opens will have a new upstairs bar with counter seating, a private dining room and more new touches throughout.

The re-fit will also come with a few changes to the menu as they'll be serving Flesh & Buns style filled gao bao buns for lunch too. new dishes to the menu include:

  • Mylor shrimps with curry salt
  • USDA beef tartar and imo fries with shisho mayo
  • Larger sharing plates including
    • Grilled partridge with chilli ponzu
    • Wild Cornish seabass with orange miso
    • Lamb neck fillet with kimchee tare.

Don't worry - some things are staying on the menu - like that French toast above.

While that re-fit is underway, there's still a chance to get a Shackfuyu fix as they stay south in Bermondsey for their pop-up near Maltby Street (at the Bone Daddies workshop). The full menu is to be revealed, but they will have Iberico Pork Pluma, the excellent 4 Miso Aubergine with Bubu Arare and their fave Kinako French Toast.

You can book tickets for the pop-up now here (it's £10 which will be deducted from your bill on the day) and the pop-up takes place on 20-21 November. Find out more by following them on Twitter @shackfuyu.

The revamped Shackfuyu returns to Soho on 1 December and it'll be soft launching until December 6 with 50% off food. Find out more about Shackfuyu.
