Five things to do in the 2015 London Restaurant Festival

London Restaurant Festival 2015

Now in its seventh year, the London Restaurant Festival has 350 restaurants taking part across London in partnership with American Express, offering a host of special events and festival menus throughout October.

With so much on offer we've picked out our top five events to try in 2015.

The Gourmey Odyssey

On the Champagne Laurent-Perrier Gourmet Odyssey, you can discover some of the city's most exciting new restaurants, while exploring the unique character of different parts of London.

We like the sound of the East London tour which includes Blixen, Bistrotheque and Paradise Garage. Plus there'll be plenty of fine champagne to match all that great food. Find out more.

Restaurant hopping

For something more informal, you can spend an evening restaurant hopping - with a tasting plate and a drink at 6 different places on one trip.

At Victoria, for example, you'll be able to try Adam Handling at the Caxton, Tozi, Pont St and Iberica on your way round. Find out more.

"Side Orders" including a limited edition Bao bun

The festival Fringe, Side Orders, is a chance for London's chefs to showcase plenty of creativity.

There'll be a limited edition LFR bao bun at Bao in Soho, a 'demi-dog' created by Brooklyn DJ Dieselboy at Bubbledogs, and a special three course dinner at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Find out more.

Exclusive Amex events

It's never easy to get a table at Kitty Fishers - and Tomos Parry's specially designed four course lunch on 4 October instantly sold out. But if you were lucky enough to snap up a spot, it's sure to be rather brilliant. And there are still some tickets left for other cheffy events. Find out more.

Special set menus

If you can't make any of the events - there will be special LRF set menus at restaurants across the city.

We were rather tempted by the menu at Koffmann's in Knightsbridge - including wild salmon mousse with herb butter, confit duck with coco beans and pink praline floating island - all for £26 at lunch, £28 at dinner.

You can have a 9 dish lunch at Hutong in the Shard for £35 - or 3 courses at Morden and Lea which features Jerusalem artichoke salad with chestnuts and goats cheese, pork belly with black pudding, gooseberries and olive oil mash, and malt custard with hazelnut parfait - for just £29. Details here.
