Long-time followers of Hot Dinners will probably know how much we love a good Martini so news that one of the World's 50 best bars was opening an outpost in London with a singular focus on a perfectly made Martini made us very happy.
Barcelona's Dry Martini By Javier de las Muelas has consistently sat within the World’s 50 Best Bars list for the past six years. The London bar will open on 1 October in the Meliá White House hotel by Regent's Park.
The bar's design sounds impressive with works of art curated by Javier including paintings by Keith Haring and portraits by Matias Krhahn. Best of all there's a three-metre section of the bar dedicated to creating Martinis. There'll be 80 gins as a starting point with a stamped certificate issued to each guest who orders a Martini.
If you're not Martini-minded there are all manner of other cocktails on offer and we're intrigued by the promise of the 'Excentric’ section of the menu where you'll find drinks like The Carnivore served in a frozen flower on a bed of moss and dry ice or The Pipe served in a bottle smoked with cherry tobacco.
As for bar snacks - a brief menu features club sandwiches (£12), mini burgers with mushroom sauce, raisins and onions (£14) and a chinese bun with burrata and hazelnut pesto sauce (£14) as well as Parmesan shavings and mini grissini (£6.50) and The Lola Toast - brown bread, dates and Catalonian anchovies (£2.50).
Dry Martini London opens on 1 October 2015 at Meliá White House Hotel, Albany St, Regent’s Park, London, NW1 3UP. Keep up with their news on Twitter @drymartinijdlm
