A large amount of the food industry gathered last night for the YBFs (also aka Young British Foodies but less so as there is actually no age limit), the food awards that celebrate innovation and creativity in UK food. It all took place at Tate Britain which itself showcased its own pretty impressive food credentials. We had no idea that Tate roated its coffee onsite, their ready made cocktails were pretty damned good and the fabricant de canales from Babelle were amazing.
As for those YBFs, the ones that went home with an award were...
- Baking: Lucie Bennett - Fleur De Sel
- Chef: Adam Rawson - Pachamama
- Meat: Will Yates - Billy Franks
- Alcohol: Tom Gosnell - Gosnell's London Mead
- Honorary: Matthew Chatfield - The Cornwall Project
- Street Food: Hannah Lovett & Marcelo Sandoval - Yakumama
- Food writing: Laura Goodman - sheisbutters.com
- Coffee: Alex Kragiopoulos - North Star Coffee Roasters
