Updated 24/8/15 with soft launch details.

The folk behind the award-winning gastopub The Truscott Arms are branching out, opening a wine bar in Belsize Park. The Truscott Cellar, which opens in June, will be a modern wine bar with food by their chef at The Truscott Arms Aidan McGee. The 60 seat bar is being designed by Michel Schranz Design and Architecture and will be on two floors.

McGee is putting together a menu of small British plates and sharing dishes. So you might find dishes like The Truscott Beef Chips, The Pig Board (which we covered here) and desserts like Gooseberry fool with dried rosehip shortbread. There'll also be smaller versions of popular dishes from The Truscott Arms like their slow braised beef cheek with smoked mash or pork belly, spinach and lentils.

Signature dishes might include: Cellar skins with blackened Lancashire bacon, Wensleydale & truffle oil or creamed haddock & spring onion, and Wookey Hole Cheddar and fried leek.

The wine list at The Truscott Cellar will be 300 bottles strong with 50 choices of wines by the glass. Exploratory wine flights will also feature drawing from the list at The Truscott Arms which won them the AA Notable Wine List 2015 award.

The Truscott Cellar will open on 8 September for a soft launch with 50% off food until 10 September at 240 Haverstock Hill, NW3 2AE. There are no reservations, so just turn up. Opening hours will be seven days a week 12-11pm. Keep up with their news on Twitter @truscottcellar
