Beef & Brew bringing value cuts and craft beef to Kentish Town

beefandbrew

From bread and wine to beef and beef - Kentish Town has a new restaurant on the way. Beef & Brew is taking over the former Pane Vino site on Kentish Town Road. And while its focus will be beef, this isn't a high end steakhouse, think more Flat Iron with an emphasis on cheaper cuts such as rump, onglet and the good old flat iron.

Head Chef and co-owner Jessica Simmons comes here via two of Angela Hartnett's restaurants - Murano and the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room. She also helped set up the kitchen at the London Fields Brewery, which is where the beer comes in.

An early look at the menu suggests that Kentish Town residents are in for a treat - expect rare roasted rump caps salad with roasted and pickled carrots; salt brisket served with leeks & mustard cream (£12.50) and short-rib in a French Dip bun (£9). If you're not beef-inclined there's fried chicken on too and for vegetarians the beer cheese melt (£6.50) sounds pretty good. Sides will range from meaty treats like duck hearts with devilled mayo (£5) and cauliflower cheese croquettes (£4) to the frankly odd sounding lemonade-soaked aubergine chips (£4).

As the name suggests there'll be all manner of craft beers on offer as well as beer and food pairing, beer flights and wine and cocktails too.

Beef & Brew opens in September at 323 Kentish Town Rd, London NW5 2TJ. Keep up with their news on Twitter @beefandbrewLDN
