Italian restaurant Canto Corvino comes to The City

Updated 19/9/15 with soft launch details:

From Chelsea and the City to the heart of Spitalfields - the team behind the popular Manicomio restaurants is heading east, with a third modern Italian restaurant opening this autumn.

Canto Corvino, under head chef Tom Salt, has been designed by the team behind Roka, Gymkhana and Bubbledogs - with an open plan kitchen and a 'warehouse aesthetic' to match the industrial heritage of the area.

The menu ranges from snacks like Portland crab arancini and cured meats from artisan Italian producers, through house-made blood sausage gnudi, to roasted hake with lardo, anchovies and rosemary. A Josper grill will show off meat dishes - like a sharing platter of veal Speidino with Roman artichokes, pancetta and Marsala. And to finish - there'll be tiramisu or a tempting macadamia and fig tart.

They're also promising an extensive wine list, drawn from small producers all over Italy, along with a range of Italian-inspired cocktails and aperitifs.

Weekend brunches will mix things up with a more American vibe, matching smoked salmon bagels with avocado and burrata - or a hearty sounding short rib hash with fried eggs and a devilled jus.

Canto Corvino will open on 28 September 2015 at 21 Artillery Lane, London. They'll soft launch from Monday 21st of September to Sunday 27th of September with 50% off food only. To book, call 020 7655 0390. For the latest updates, follow them on Twitter @CantoCorvinoE1
