Molé brings Mexican food, cocktails and tacos to Marylebone

mole

Marylebone continues to be a bit of a growth area for interesting new restaurants. And the latest we've heard about is Molé, a "boutique Mexican restaurant and taco bar" coming to Picton Place, right beside Selfridges. Run by the team behind nearby Cocochan the 50-seater restaurant is going to serve up modern Mexican/South American cooking (and cocktails).

80% of Molé’s menu will be gluten-free, including their tacos which they'll be making themselves from Masa (cornflour). Expect dishes like:

  • Braised Oxtail, with Crema, Shaved Lettuce and Red Amaranth
  • Octopus with Pico de Gallo, Popcorn Shoot and Serrano Chilli
  • Seabass with Lemon zest Pico de Gallo
  • 16-hour braised Chipotle Beef Short Rib

As for the tacos, they do sound good - how about Cod Cheeks with a Squid Ink Foam and Micro Leaf, and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Pickled Watermelon and Sweet Miso? There'll also be a raw bar serving up various ceviches.

The cocktails list has a South American influence. They'll be making their own syrups and infused spirits and we like the sound of the Guava Pisco Sour made with Molé’s own guava compote, shaken with pisco, lime and Peruvian bitters.

Molé will open early August 2015 at 16 Picton Place, London W1U 1BP. Keep up with their news on Twitter and Instagram at @moletacobar
