Updated 13/7/15 with soft opening details
Like meat? Like truffles? Then you should probably make a date in your diary to visit Sackville's when it opens in Mayfair next week. This new bar and grill has a menu focusing on meat and black truffles. Chef Wayne Dixon is the former senior sous chef of Gordon Ramsay’s Maze Grill. He'll be sourcing all of the truffles from Istria in Croatia.
There will be five poshed up burgers including George’s Black Burger – Wagyu patty on a dark truffle brioche bun, buttered with foie gras mousse and served with a truffle mayonnaise and The Fat Pat – a Wagyu patty and Angus patty with tomato relish, peppered pancetta and melted Emmental.
It's not all burgers (although there is going to be a chocolate fondant burger for dessert) - so you'll also find poussin baked with truffle oil and buttered with foie gras as well as spaghetti with ox tongue, boar shavings and truffle dust on the menu. Sides include truffle mac and cheese, truffle mash and wilted kale with butter dressing.
They've also got what sounds like a top basement bar planned. In charge of that will be mixologist Monica Berg (formerly at Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social). You'll also be able to try a range of truffle-based bar nibbles down here too.
The two-floor restaurant is going to have space for 42 in the ground floor dining room, including 4 seats up at the open kitchen for those who love counter dining. Then the downstairs bar and lounge will seat 16.
Sackville’s opens 13 July with a soft launch and 50% off food for lunch and dinner until the full opening on 16 July 2015. Tel 0207 734 3623 or email reservations@sackvilleslondon.com.
It's at 8a Sackville Street, London W1S 3DF. Opening hours will be all day dining 7 days a week, while the downstairs bar and lounge will be open daily from 5pm. Keep up with their news on Twitter @sackvillesw1sackvillesw1
