They already have a restaurant in Chelsea and now Megan's is about to open a second in St John's Wood.
The original Megan's has been in Chelsea since 2005. They took over the site from an old antiques store and revamped it into a café. Last year it had something of an overhaul from its new owner Becky Mckevitt, who used to be sommelier at Salt Yard and has been known to draw in the odd Chelsea celebs. The new site is taking over an old Café Rouge on the High Street with a design that will be influences by the original.
There's room in the restaurant for 100, alongside a private dining room and 25 seats outside on a covered, heated terrace.
It's an all-day restaurant that starts with brunch - including various egg dishes with the option of gluten-free bread, continues with lunch - with Mediterranean sandwiches, grilled meats, salads and more, and into dinner with dishes cooked on a lava coal grill - fresh fish, steaks and sharing boards. Starters include crab crostini or croquettes, the mains section features Cote de Boeuf for two and Flamed Mackerel Fillet with Baked Beetroot.
They have their own Prosecco too along with champagnes and wines chosen by Becky Mckevitt.
And we do like the idea of Lobster Sundays. They'll be running these every Sunday from noon until the evening. They're promising Lobster Benedict, Lobster linguine and lots of grilled lobster as well as a weekly changing live band on hand.
Megan's is now open at 120 St John’s Wood High Street, St John’s Wood, London NW8 7SG. Book online at www.megans.co.uk or call 020 71833138. For more, follow them on Twitter @MegansCafe
