It's tine for another change on the rooftop at Selfridges, where the Chalet is about to be replaced by a new pop-up, the seaside themed On the Roof with Vintage Salt.
It comes from Des McDonald, who was behind the previous pop-ups as well as Q Grill, Fish & Chip Shop and Holborn Dining Room. This new pop-up is apparently based on a Cornish fishing village and feartures include:
A beach hut serving wine - there will be chilled reds, rose, white wine and champagne and also a dedicated "G&Tea" bar which will have gin cocktails. There are another two beach huts if you want to escape the London sun (or perhaps rain) and, of course, deckchairs throughout.
As for the food on offer, it includes:
- Beer battered courgette flowers, heritage tomato ketchup £4.50
- Earl Grey tea smoked salmon salad, Jersey Royals, horseradish £12.75
- Sea bass a la plancha, surf clams, wilted beech greens £24.50
- Cornish shrimp burger, spicy tartare £15.75
