Save some room after all those Easter eggs - London's top pastry chefs are conjuring up some incredible chocolate brownies to auction off for charity. So if you've ever wanted to try a one-off creation by Nuno Mendes, Ollie Dabbous or Edd Kimber - now's your chance.
What's it all about?
It's all in aid of the Sick Children's Trust - which provides home-from-home accommodation and support for parents whose children are being treated in hospital miles from where they live - keeping families together at the most stressful and upsetting time of their lives. A host of top names have signed up, including pastry supremos Adam Degg from Chiltern Firehouse, Sarah Barber from ME London, chocolatier Paul A Young and Steve Groves from Roux Parliament Square. You can even bid for brownies made by Jamie Oliver's wife Jools, Rosemary Shrager and Masterchef champion Tim Anderson.
Some of the recipes sound almost too good to be true: imagine tucking into some macadamia praline, chocolate creme brulee and salted caramel popcorn brownies, or one spiked with macadamia, chilli and coconut with a matcha white chocolate drizzle. And totally guilt-free, of course - it's for charity!
Paul Young, who's Vice-President of the Sick Children's Trust is urging everyone to get behind the idea. "The Big Chocolate Brownie Bid is the perfect opportunity for all the chefs involved to use our love of chocolate and create indulgent chocolate brownies for our lucky bidders to enjoy, while raising money for such a fantastic cause."
The Big Chocolate Brownie Bid will run from noon on Friday April 17th to noon on Friday April 24th 2015, with a live leader board showing who's raising the most. Whoever bids the top price for each chef's creation will be sent a box of 24 brownies on 7th May - and if you don't scoff them all at once, you can raise even more cash for the charity by holding one of their chocolate themed tea parties which will run throughout the month.
You can find all the details of the auction, and get bidding when it opens - at bigchocolatebrowniebid.com and keep up with their news on Twitter @bigchocteaparty
