OK, now it really IS a trend. Another Greek restaurant is coming to London, this time an "Athenian grill house" called Suvlaki which will be opening in Soho.
The souvlaki is a grilled meat skewer that can be eaten plain or inside a wrap and the owners of this new restaurant want to make is as popular a fast food as burgers or hot dogs. They have Elias Mamalakis on board as a consultant chef, who is a TV food personality in Greece, and will putting together a menu which includes lamb, chicken, pork and vegetables wrapped in pita bread or served on skewers and cooked on a robata-style grill. Alongside that, some small starters, a completely Greek wine list together with rare bottled craft beers from selected microbreweries in Greece.
