A new Italian is coming to Mayfair from Andrea Reitano (who was also behind bringing Rome's Assunta Madre to London).
Details are a little thin on the ground for the imminent opening, but we do know that it'll be a casual Italian restaurant, with takeaway available too (including pasta, paninis and salads). And, like Assunta Madre, they'll be flying ingredients in from Italy too including burrata from Puglia and mozzarella from Napoli. Promised for the menu is Parmigiana di melanzane nere (black parmigiana with eggplant) and pizzas including "Numero 28" (buffalo mozzarella, speck, truffle cream and mushrooms.
Caffe Rei opens on 9 March at 3 Hay Hill, London, W1J 6A. For more information, follow them on Twitter @Caffe_Rei
