If you're living or working around Bermondsey you may have spotted the soft opening of Southerden Patisserie and Cafe last week. It's the passion project of a lawyer turned patisserie chef Melanie Southerden which combines pastries to take away with room to eat in.
Having had a quick look at the goodies on offer, they certainly sound mouthwatering. There are sweet Choumert buns, amazing-sounding devilled egg and avocado eclairs (pictured) and - our favourite - vodka pastry pies. If you're eating in, there are drinks to go alongside which include juices and Matcha as well as Monmouth coffee.
Southerden is at 72 Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3UD and is open for breakfast and lunch. Keep up with their news on Twitter @southerdenSE1. They're also trading at the Spa Terminus market on Saturdays.
