Popular fish and chip chain Kerbisher & Malt has built up a reputation for its food south of the river over the past four years. Now it's expanding to East London with the opening of its fifth shop, on Rosebery Avenue, just off Exmouth Market. The new Kerbisher EC1 is going to be part of a offshoot of the brand - it's smaller and more about takeaway than the existing places and is going to be the first in a roll-out.
What that means food-wise is a reduced version of their usual menu featuring sustainably-sourced fish which you can choose to have battered, crumbed in matzo meal or grilled. They'll be putting on a range of lunch-time specials and online ordering for busy workers nearby. But, should you want to eat in, there'll be 12 seats to do just that and a range of craft beers on offer for eat-in diners.
