Just when we were thinking of making a trip to Columbia Road to try out Lockhart chef Brad McDonald's doorstop business 1235 Donuts, we hear they're moving the business West.
For a while Brad and his wife Molly have been selling fresh, cream-filled donuts out of their yellow front door on Hackney’s Columbia Road on Sundays. Now they're stopping that to launch a morning donuts and coffee station at The Lockhart restaurant and bar in Marylebone, where Brad is executive chef.
From Friday 16 May, The Lockhart will sell 1235 Donuts with a selection of fillings as well as expertly made fresh coffee. Flavours will include salted caramel, chocolate and lemon curd. Donuts will cost £2.50 each and you can also order boxes to take away.
All is not lost for East Londoners though, as Molly aka Mrs 1235 Donuts explains: "From time to time, we may pop back up on Columbia Road and food events around town, so keep an eye on your Twitter feeds." In the meantime get down to Columbia Road this Sunday for the last time in a while...
The Donuts and Coffee station at Lockhart launches on Friday 16 May at 8am. It'll run Friday-Sunday mornings from 8am selling donuts until they sell out. The Lockhart is at 24 Seymour Place, London W1H 7NL
