Oslo live music venue to open at Hackney Central

oslofoodUpdated 17/12/13 with opening date and menu details.

Taking over the old railway station at Hackney Central this November is Oslo - a food, drink and music hub. Food will be served all day and then in the evenings the place will turn into a venue for live music with a licence till 3am.

The venture is by the team behind DHP Family - a live music promoter behind Nottingham's Rock City and Bristol's Thekla and festivals such as Gathering.

Head Chef Dave Ahern whose work you might know from Burger Breakout has been busy working up a menu featuring modern interpretations of classic East End dishes. There will also be a fair few dishes featuring curing, smoking and pickling to tie in with the Nordic theme. Drinks-wise Dave's food has been created to go well with craft ales from local breweries Redemption, The Five Point Brewing Company and Sambrook’s Brewery.

Oslo opens on Friday 17 January at 1a Amhurst Road, Hackney, London E8 1LL. Keep up with their progress by following them on Twitter @oslohackney
