We're big fans of Paul A Young's chocolates (particularly the original shop in Angel) and never miss a pre-Christmas opportunity to stock up. So we pricked up our ears on hearing that his latest shop, in Heal's on Tottenham Court Road, is the first to let you sit down and scoff his chocolates and more in-store.
It opened over the weekend, and alongside a selection of chocs, there will be hot chocolate made with a range of chocolate from craft chocolate makers around the world. Tea will be from Henrietta Lovell’s Rare Tea Company, with a new chocolate chai tea blend available there too.
As for the chocolates themselves, there is an open kitchen in the store, where various recipes like cocoa nib drenched cookies, ganache-covered chocolate cake, Mayan spiced chocolate cakes and chocolate cantuccini will be made daily. Paul himself will also be there, cooking daily exclusives from his new book.
The new store is right at the entrance to Heal's, so you can easily grab a chocolate on the go too.
