Tim Anderson may have won the 2011 series of MasterChef, but fellow finalist Tom Whitaker hasn't been slacking off since he reached the top three. The former advertising exec is about to open in his first professional kitchen at a gastropub in leafy Barnes right on the river.
The White Hart has had a full blown refurb which includes a new place to eat The Terrace Kitchen which has its own smokery.
Tom's seasonal menu will feature his take on classic British dishes that stood him in such good stead in the programme. So there'll be glazed shin of beef, smoked bone-marrow burgers, deep fried pig's ears and fig choux buns with rosemary ice-cream.
