Updated 20/10/13 with new dates and menu items
If you're in Fitzrovia today, there's a new lunchtime offering in the shape of F.A.T by Freddie, described as "a two month lunch residency of sandwiches, pickles & ice cream."
It's taking over lunchtimes at Sharps, a converted barber shop, and is a residency by Freddie Janssen, her first one since switching careers from being creative director at Protein agency.
She'll be offering a rotating selection of gourmet sandwiches including Kimchi & Stilton Grilled Cheese Sandwich and a Duck Pate Sandwich that sounds incredible - White Sourdough, Duck Liver Parfait, Parsley & Shallot Salad, F.A.T Coffee Beet Picks ( these are made in collaboration with coffee outfit DunneFrankowski), Bourbon Chilli Picks. Desserts for the first week include Buttermilk & White Sesame Waffle w/ Avocado & Coconut Ice Cream (with salted licorice ice cream being an option here also).
She's teamed up with some pretty impressive suppliers too. In addition to DunneFrankowski, there's cheese from Neal's Yard, sourdough from Bread Ahead Bakery, pickles from the Boilermaker and ketchup from none other than James Lowe.
Update: The pop-up is now open till Christmas so a few extra wintry items have been added to the menu including a French Dip Sandwich with Roast Beef, Gravy, Curds, Dill Cucumber Pickle & Maple Chipotle Mustard and a Chocolate & Pretzel Pie with Black Pepper Szechuan Ice Cream.
