A BBQ pop-up at a canalside location - so far, so Hackney, but the latest addition to the East London dining scene, Smokey Tails, also has a celebrity owner, in the form of top DJ Seth Troxler.
Troxler is apparently "a gift to Detroit techno from intergalactic house demigods from the future" according to his official Facebook page (so it MUST be true). He's also a keen cook and has form having won the 2011 Amsterdam Dance Event DJ Cook-off with his secret family barbecue sauce recipe.
According to the blurb, Smokey Tails, which opened just last week, serves up "exquisite smoked meats, sublime salads, knock-out frozen cocktails (courtesy of Soulshakers), independent guest ales and mighty fine desserts”. A quick look at their Twitter feed shows the menu featuring chicken wings - buffalo or BBQ style, pulled pork slider with pickled red cabbage, BBQ ribs and salted caramel brownies with creme fraiche 'Hackney Wick' mess .
