Baking couldn't be any bigger right now - with the great British bake-off being one of the programmes Hot Dinners was utterly gripped by last year. So it makes sense that Fortnum & Mason are capitalising on the appetite for it with a 10 week pop-up bakery.
Between January and April the Piccadilly store will feature top names such as Mark Hix, Paul Hollywood; food writer Rose Prince and her son Jack; Edd Kimber and Stacie Stewart, the MasterChef finalist and ‘Sweet Baking’ judge on ITV’s forthcoming cookery show ‘Food Glorious Food’.
Each guest baker will serve up dishes at the bakery for a fortnight as well as hosting masterclasses in store. So Hix will be serving up his British pies and cakes while Paul Hollywood will be focusing on bread.
The store will also see a series of other baking visitors popping in over the course of the event. Lorraine Pascale will run a three course Chef's Dinner on Wednesday 30th January with tickets at £50. And on Tuesday 26 February, to mark the launch of Mary Berry and Lucy Young’s book, Mary Berry at Home, both authors will be at Fortnums for an afternoon tea in Fortnum’s Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. Tickets for that are £65, which includes a signed copy of Mary Berry at Home.
The pop-up begins Monday 28th January and runs until the Sunday 7th April. Find out more at www.fortnumandmason.com or should call 0845 602 5694 to reserve their place at one of the events.
