If you're really quick off the mark (and have some dosh to spend on a good cause) there are still a few tickets left for this Saturday's Action Against Hunger Fine Wine Auction and Dinner.
The do, held this weekend at City restaurant 1 Lombard Street sees top chefs Claude Bosi (Hibiscus), Andrew Fairlie (Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles), Phil Howard (The Square) and Tom Kerridge (The Hand and Flowers) in the kitchens turning out a top meal for diners complete with the world’s best wine, Champagne, Port and Cognac to accompany it.
Matching the stellar line-up in the kitchen, will be the food and wine lots being auctioned off on the night. The Money-Can’t-Buy Auction in the past has offered an exclusive array of fine and rare wines including offerings from Champagne Taittinger, E. Guigal, Pingus and Chateau Mouton Rothschild as well as opportunities such as; a fishing trip with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, VIP Paddock passes to the British Grand Prix and a Michelin-Starred dinner party prepared by Giorgio Locatelli in the winning bidder's home. They're hoping to beat last year's amazing figure of £210,000.
Best still, the evening's in a great cause, raising funds for Action Against Hunger’s work around the world. And the Government is matching all public donations to the appeal pound for pound until November 30th so diners' support on the evening will go twice as far.
If we've sold you on it, and you have £200 to spare, or would even like to buy a whole table for the event this Saturday 6 October, simply email b.mcrow@actionagainsthunger.org.uk for details.
