If you tried (and failed) to get hold of a seat at the recent French Laundry pop-up and still have that £250 burning a hole in your pocket, why not buy a ticket to the Art and Food gala dinner at the Savoy next month. The list of chefs who'll be putting the menu together is really top-drawer - Heston Blumenthal, Jason Atherton, Brett Graham from The Ledbury and Lisa Allen from Northcote Manor - so it's a great way to try all their dishes in one (albeit expensive) dinner out.
Here's what's on the menu - see if you can guess who's responsible for which course...(some of them are very easy we grant you).
Tarleton pigeon wellington with sweet and sour turnip
Meat fruit
Loin of roe deer on shiraz lees with beetroot & smoked beef marrow
Peanut butter & jelly sandwich
Sheep’s milk jam with blood orange granita and sangria mousse.
And, while you're enjoying the amazing food you can also blow your budget entirely by taking part in the silent auction to purchase art by such luminaries as Maggi Hambling, Patrick Hughes and Haroon Mirza.
The brains behind the event in aid of PAC (formerly Post-Adoption Centre) is Great British menu judge Matthew Norman, who had the support of PAC almost 25 years ago. "It's going to be a mouth-watering, eye-opening evening!" he promises.
