Denizens of west London have been blessed for a number of summers now with the annual arrival of the Cloudy Bay Shack. Imagine if you will, your local park being taken over for the weekend by a great winery. Then, if that wasn't joy enough, there's food courtesy of a newly Michelin-starred chef to boot.
If you're in, or around, or even the other side of town from Parsons Green, it's worth heading over to try the food and wine matching, which is in partnership this year with Petersham Nurseries' Skye Gyngell whose Richmond restaurant was one of just seven London places to get their first Michelin star this year.
The wines on offer over the weekend will be Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Te Koko 2008, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay 2008 and Reisling Dry 2007. They'll be paired with five dishes; heritage tomatoes with goats curd and oregano, risotto with lemon and san daniele, cod's roe with creme fraiche and bruschetta, slow cooked veal with black olives and preserved lemons and salad of spinach, fennel, shaved raw asparagus, peas and fontodi olive oil.
The Cloudy Bay Shack will be open on Parson's Green, SW4 from 11am – 8pm on the 30th and 31st July 2011. You don't have to do anything fiddly like make a reservation, just turn up and pay the cost of the food and drink. It's £6.50 for a glass of wine, £8.50 for wine and food and £4.50 for food on its own.
