Jun Tanaka launches London's first gourmet food truck

The gourmet food truck craze that’s exciting foodies from Los Angeles to New York is crossing over the pond to London. Pearl chef Jun Tanaka will take to the streets in an airstream kitchen as part of the London Restaurant Festival this October.

According to a spokesperson, Tanaka's van will sell ‘a seasonal British menu, serving dishes such as Home Smoked Salmon and Braised Featherblade of Beef’. Dishes will cost between £4.50 - £6.5 and the truck will run for the duration of the festival, starting in Covent Garden, visiting two other London locations and finishing at the festival’s closing ceremony in Old Spitalfields Market.

Interested punters will be able to find out where the truck is and what’s on the menu today by checking out www.streetkitchen.co.uk

This must be what Jun was referring to when Hot Dinners spoke to him earlier this summer. 'It’s going to be brilliant if we can pull it off – because there’s a lot of work involved,' he told us. 'It will be completely unique to London.'
