Gordon Ramsay's woes continue this week with the breaking news that his chief financial officer, Nick Fletcher had quietly resigned more than three months ago. The Sunday Express is reporting today that Fletcher, who was brought into Gordon Ramsay Holdings in May 2008 to help shore up the ailing business, resigned his directorship back in September 2009.
Earlier this week, Ramsay's chief executive and father in law Chris Hutcheson, talked to Bloomberg about how the company was weathering the storm. He revealed some of the ways they've been cutting costs - shutting down The Boxwood cafe and no longer ordering fresh flowers at Maze. But it seems that it's TV that makes most of the money for Ramsay with the chef making a mint from his shows in the US and UK and raking in a further £3m from endorsements.
'You tell me a chef anywhere in the world that’s prepared to turn down quarter of a million dollars for an hour’s work on TV,' says Ramsay, 'and they’re the biggest lying bastard that ever put on a chef’s jacket.'
