Chef Patron Carlo Scotto, who has worked with the likes of Angela Hartnett and the Galvin Brothers, has launched his first restaurant which consists of two concepts under one roof, serving modern European dishes with a global influence. Xier will be the ten-course, destination restaurant that takes residence in the top floor of the restaurant. X R will be the more casual all day dining restaurant which is housed on the ground floor. X R’s menu focuses on locally sourced produce from around the UK with a focus on the Rhug Estate in Wales.
The launch offer is for X R and starters include the likes of; Enoki and shitake, truffle arancini, Cured salmon with hazelnuts, salmon roe, mango and avocado puree or Yellowfin tuna tartare, aubergine caviar, chicory salad and taro crisps. Main courses feature delicious plates of Harissa chicken, piquillo peppers, spinach and lime mayo, Sea bream with parsnips, samphire and basil dressing or Papaya marinated hangar steak with pickled walnuts, shallots and jalapeño. Other crowd pleasers include Burrata cheese, slow cooked heritage tomatoes with basil dressing or Tortellini pasta stuffed with ricotta, blushed tomatoes and pine nuts served in a light butter sauce.
