Michelin-starred Kitchen Table reinvents itself as a deli

Yesterday's announcement by the government that restaurants could reopen was welcome news to many. But not all restaurants fit even the 1m plus rule. One such place is Kitchen Table. The two Michelin-starred restaurant in Fitzrovia is all about the counter dining experience - and that's clearly going to take them a little longer to work out how to reopen safely.

So what does one of London's top r…

40ft Brewery to celebrate reopening in Dalston with a 6ft beer

While we're obviously very excited that restaurants are about to reopen, we're also just as giddy about the pubs, bars and taprooms returning across the city. And one of our favourites of the latter is definitely 40ft Brewery in Dalston. They're not only reopening their outside space, but they're also introducing a new drink to emphasise the required social distancing.

Burger & Beyond add more DIY kits, with Truffle Tots and Krispie Fried Chicken on the menu

One thing that has seen something of a boom during the lockdown is the humble DIY meal kit. We've seen some excellent ones appearing over the past few months, not least the Burger & Beyond Bacon Butter Burger kit, which we were rather taken with

Yet, much as we like a good burger, there's more to enjoy at Burger & Beyond. Until now, there's been a distinct lack of sides in th…

There's something of a change happening to Brigadiers, the city bar/restaurant that's run by the people behind Gymkhana. As it'll be a while before it can return completely to normal, it's being transformed into a retro Indian off-licence - aka the Daru Shop.

Everything will be served through a hatch and there are two very important elements. First, you'll be able to get a takeaway pint of…

The Cookdown releases recipe books from London chefs to help the homeless

This is a good idea which, in turn, actually does good. During normal times, the charity StreetSmart would be raising funds for the homeless through donations added to the bill in restaurants. But while restaurants remain shut, they've had to diversify.

The plan they've come up with is to get some of London's top chefs to create online recipe books - the sale of which will raise funds…
