Kensington Place adds a pop-up fish & chip shop Notting Gill Chippy

chippyUpdated 5/9/15 with extended opening details

Kensington Place has recently had a bit of a refurb and now they're adding something new - a pop up chippy. The food, as befits its location, is certainly more upmarket than most fish and chip shops.

For instance, on the menu will be:

  • Lobster Thermi-Bun, a savoury doughnut filled with lobster thermidor sauce (pictured).
  • Bitter & Twisted Scampi - made with whisky-cask-matured Harviestoun Brewery golden ale in the batter
  • Curried-Spiced Batter Fish & Chips with mango chutney and lentil dahl.
  • Fish Finger Butty with Spicy Ketchup

Plus there will be some special cocktails and a few extras including poppy and rye sourdough with seaweed butter and in another chippy twist, there will be baby pickles – baby onions, cornichons and quail eggs in Kilner jars.

It's will all be available to eat in or take away and will run until 24 September 2015.

Kensington Place is at 201 Kensington Church St, London W8 7LX. Find out more from them on Twitter @KPrestaurantW8
