Gordon Ramsay to open Las Vegas steakhouse

Updated: 13 January 2012: Gordon's first Las Vegas restaurant will be called Gordon Ramsay Steak and is expected to open in Spring 2012. The steakhouse will have 274 covers and includes a large bar area, chef's table and private dining room in addition to the main room.

It may be situated in the Paris Las Vegas hotel, but the steakhouse will have a solidly British feel, offering dishes such as fish and chips and shepherd's pie as well as a range of steaks that come from - and we quote - "the exclusive beef aging program created under the direction of Chef Ramsay and his culinary team".

[original story] News that Gordon Ramsay was planning 'something big' in the States only surfaced on Sunday, but already a US blogger has discovered what that project actually is - a steakhouse in Las Vegas.

According to the Luxe Life blog, Ramsay will be opening an 'upscale bistro' the Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse at the Paris hotel in June 2011.

Opening in Las Vegas represents the culmination of a longstanding ambition of Ramsay's. Back in 2004 he told The Scotsman 'Las Vegas is an amazing place with plenty of money and I am sure a restaurant would do very well there.'
