10 Argyle St, Kings Cross, London WC1H 8EG

At the top of the Standard hotel in King's Cross, Decimo is run by chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias who has two Michelin-starred restaurants in Bristol and features tapas-style food inspired by Mexico and Spain. The views are breathtaking, and you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks at the super glamorous rooftop bar.

Coal Drops Yard, Stable Street, King’s Cross, London N1C 4AB

Barrafina are considered as being some of the best Spanish restaurants in London and this Kings Cross outpost is no exception, with a particular focus on Catalan cooking. It's primarily counter dining, but they also have a stunning alfresco-only grill restaurant, Parrillan.

68 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6AQ

This two-level stylish Victoria branch of the Ibérica restaurant chain from two-Michelin-starred executive chef Nacho Manzano showcases some of the best Spanish produce in London. You can expect Juan Pedro Domecq jamón, croquetas from Manzano’s grandmother’s recipe and classic desserts such as caramelised rice pudding and churros.

36 Broadgate Circle, London EC2M 2QS

Spanish chef José Pizarro expanded beyond Bermondsey Street for the first time to this City outpost (his third restaurant in what is now a burgeoning empire). There’s a big focus on grilled meats, such as the famed Presa Ibérico, as well as all things tapas.

2 Dirty Lane, London SE1 9PA

Barrafina comes from the Harts Group (also behind El Pastor) and the restaurants serve up some of the very best Spanish tapas in London. It's also predominantly about counter dining and if you manage to get a seat at that counter, the tapas (particularly the tortilla) will be worth it. There's also a bar, Bar Daskal, attached if you want to have a drink before or after.

45 Berwick St, London W1F 8SF

Set on a prime corner site on the junction of Berwick and Noel Street in the heart of Soho, this tapas restaurant sees North London restaurateur Stephen Lironi hitting up the West End for his first central London opening. The food might be Spanish but there’s a strong Scottish influence here too, with super fresh razor clams and hake arriving down from the Scottish coast daily.

12 Cabot Square, London E14 4QQ

Iberica pride themselves on offering as close an authentic Spanish restaurant experience as you'll find here in the UK. Founders Marcos Fernandez Pardo and Nacho Manzano want all their restaurants, including this Canary Wharf branch, to celebrate Spanish gastronomy.

4 Dirty Lane, London SE1 9PA

This Spanish Grill restaurant is a spin-off from Barrafina (indeed there's a Borough Barrafina just next door). Here, there's a big focus on grilled meat and fish and a big alfresco space. Plus, if you're outside, you'll get the chance to grill your own dinner on their tabletop grills.

374 Helmsley Pl, London E8 3SB

This is the second space for Tomos Parry's hit restaurant Brat, taking over the (covered) courtyard of the Climpson's Arch roastery. Expect a similar menu to the Shoreditch original - plenty of Galician steaks, grilled fish and lots of Basque influence throughout.

32 Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QL

Moro has long been one of London foodie's favourite restaurants - think of this as Sam and Sam Clark's sibling tapas bar to the original - serving up super small plates with ice-cold glasses of fino.

35 Heddon Street, London W1B 4BR

Run by the double act of chef Nieves Barragán and GM Josè Etura, Sabor is the kind of restaurant everyone wants to try, and once they've been are immediately plotting a return visit. It's a restaurant of two halves with the Asador on the upper level and counter dining by the open kitchen on the ground floor. Obviously, you're going to want the croquetas, but everything else will be great as well.

Royal Academy, Burlington Gardens, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD

José Pizarro is one of the best Spanish chefs in London today. Here, he's taken over two of the restaurants in the Royal Academy - their main restaurant in the Dorfman Senate Rooms and the Poster Bar downstairs. He's produced another excellent menu of tapas which will suit anyone after they've had a dose of culture at the RA.

9 Seymour Place, London W1H 5BA

This is from the people behind Donostia - and it's just across the road from their sibling. It's a much larger restaurant and there's a big emphasis on the aged Galician beef, which they import themselves (and supply other restaurants with too). An excellent place to try Basque-style steak in London - and they've a lovely private courtyard too.

167 Upper St, Islington, London N1 1US

This Spanish restaurant on Upper Street comes from expert jamón producers Jamon y Salud, so you'd be expecting their jamon to be of a particularly high standard (it is). But it's not all about ham as the restaurant does a great line in authentic Spanish tapas, as well as serving up excellent Spanish wines. It's also worth popping in and grabbing a seat on the bar if you just need a snack.

95 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3BS

Grupo Sagardi was founded years ago in Barcelona. This is their first UK restaurant and it's all about showcasing the best produce from Basque farms and its coast, all flown in daily from San Sebastian. The steak is a big deal.

26-27 D'arblay Street, London W1F 8E

From the same people behind Barrica, this is one of Soho's most popular tapas bars - all stools and standing space only. The menu changes daily and you can find many Spanish tapas classics on it, with lots of Spanish wine to go alongside.

60-61 Berwick Street, London W1F 8SU

This restaurant comes from the people behind Salt Yard and takes its inspiration from the rural Basque and Italian methods of smoking and grilling over charcoal. The menu is almost entirely cooked on a custom built charcoal fired grill.

26-27 Dean St, Soho, London W1D 3LL

The original Barrafina moved from its Frith Street location to take up pride of place beside (and a chunk out of) Quo Vadis. This is the Spanish tapas brand's main location in Soho and features some of the best Spanish food in London, as well as great counter action.

15 Maiden Ln, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7NG

Condesa is a small tapas restaurant in Covent Garden with dishes inspired by both Spain and Latin America. Here you'll find a combination of Spanish tapas like jamon Iberico next to beef cheek tacos and ceviche along with plenty of cava and sherry, of course.

43 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London WC2B 5AJ

The ever-popular Barrafina's Drury Lane outpost has a lovely wraparound terrace, making it one of the best in the group for alfresco dining. As with the other branches, it's one of London's best restaurants for tapas, with the tortilla being unmissable.

23 Catherine Street, London WC2

From the same stable as Salt Yard and Dehesa, this serves tapas-style dishes in a refurbished pub setting. Their teeny Iberico pork and foie gras burgers are worthy of the trip here alone.

Enjoy the best Spanish food and wine, with a particular focus on the Basque region. And - if you like what you try - you can also buy it to bring home. With various locations around town, each Tapas Room lets its manager pick the wine list, so there’s always something different to try.

Tour Spain without having to leave SW11 - with tapas, aperitivo and more on offer. Inside this Spanish restaurant, there’s a mix of counter dining and bar space and the outside river facing terrace is a real boon.

Bibo sees Dani Garcia, a top Spanish chef with Michelin stars to his name, take his Bibo restaurant group to the new Mondrian hotel in Shoreditch. While rollouts can sometimes be hit or miss - this is definitely in hit territory, with an excellent tapas menu and vibe to match.

64 Eastcastle St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 8NQ

As the name suggests, multiple Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Quique Dacosta's first London restaurant has a big focus on rice with loads of paella on the menu. But it's not ALL rice and there's a cracking bar upstairs too.

Coal Drops Yard, Stable Street, King’s Cross, London N1C 4AB

Restaurateur and chef Anthony Demetre (of Wild Honey) has brought his vision of a Spanish/Italian Vermuteria to Coal Drops Yard. As the name suggests, there are plenty of vermouth and negronis on the drinks list along with a seasonal tapas-style menu.

54 Goodge St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 4NA

The original restaurant in the Salt Yard group - this introduced Londoners to the delights of Spanish and Italian small plates. They have a cracking wine and sherry list too.

One Aldwych, London WC2B 4BZ

Eneko Atxa is best known for his Basque restaurant, the three Michelin starred Azurmendi. This is the London outpost of his more informal Spanish restaurant - but still with a Basque menu at the heart of things.
