Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster

The folks behind Goodman are on a mission to offer Londoners the kind of Lobster experience you get on the east coast of America. They hope to offer the cheapest lobster in the UK, thanks to their tank which can take a tonne of lobster at a time.

"...If (smaller menus are) going to be one of the food scene’s favourite things, a ‘trend’, I can only applaud. Sometimes, lack of choice is an excellent thing."

"My first mouthful, a crunchy chip dipped in a garlicky lemon butter of operatic heft and zing, told me all I needed to know: that having chosen to do very little here, they do it as well as it can be done." READ REVIEW

"Logistically, there’s hardly any washing-up and, as the Blonde pointed out, virtually no wastage. You don’t need a three-starred trained chef. You’re doing only two things, so you can do them really well, and fast." READ REVIEW

"The restaurant isn’t just a great idea: It’s a winner because of the quality of the food. Even the salad -- tomato, lettuce, onion, red and yellow peppers, pickled vegetables -- is special: The colors are so vibrant it looks like it’s been Photoshopped, while the dressing has just a hint of sweetness." "If you're looking for value for money, it's the crustaceans that win every time. The lobster roll - chunks of the meat coated with Japanese-style, egg-yolk-rich mayonnaise, swathed in soft and glossy brioche and topped with a whole claw - would be our recommendation of the three." READ REVIEW

"It is not just the lobster being a game of two halves that is unusual and exciting, the meat is also sweet-tasting and tender, more so if you go for steamed - although you then miss the smokiness of the char." READ REVIEW
