Social media really does have a love/hate affair with lists. So we're all geared up to see the latest version of our Top 40 list praised or pilloried - probably both. Maybe you'll find it a decent starting point or you'll think we're out of our minds to have missed [insert your favourite restaurant here] off it. We hope at least it's debate-worthy.
Whether you're new to London, need a useful list to send to a foodie client or just fancy seeing what someone else rates on the London restaurant scene, may we humbly present the latest iteration of our list
15 May - Ladies of Restaurants are holding an evening at the Our/London distillery discussing the subject of guilt and how it affects women day to day, and in the restaurant industry. There'll be cocktails from Our/London, canapes by Crumble Food, tunes by Pandora from Kiss FM, and networking. Tickets are £20.
22 April - Join Tony Conigliaro as he opens the doors of Drink Factory. The cocktail guru will hold a masterclass with samples and then you'll head round to his Dalston bar untitled for a cocktail of your choice. Tickets are £50.
28 April - Danilo Cortellini Head Chef at the Italian Embassy will host a cookery demo and supperclub at Mercato Metropolitano. Tickets are priced at £55 which includes a pasta masterclass, welcome Aperitivo and canapes, and a 4-course meal.
16 May - make a date for the annual National Waiters' Day race in Hyde Park with prizes given out for Fastest Waiter, Fastest Waitress, Winning Team and Best Dressed.
16 May - Clapham restaurant The Manor's Head chef Dean Parker has teamed up with The Knotted Vine to create a five course Cellars Series dinner, paired with 5 natural wines for £50. May's dinner theme is Mountain.Land.Sea. Book at firstname.lastname@example.org.
27-28 May - Feria De Londres hits Tower Bridge for the second May Bank Holiday weekend, showcasing Spanish tapas, beer, wine and live entertainment.
Clarette - Marylebone This is a new multi-level wine bar in Marylebone. Expect a wide range of mainly French wines, and some sharing plates to go with them.
Patty & Bun - Notting Hill They've been launching burger joints across town, but this is the first time that Patty & Bun have headed out west. Expect the usual fave burgers, a bar and more. (Plus burgers for £5 today).
Little Jose - Canary Wharf With Jose, Pizarro and Jose already open, the Spanish chef is opening another restaurant named after himself. Expect Spanish food with more of a takeaway focus than before.
Comptoir Cafe - Mayfair Coming from the same person behind Blandford Comptoir, this pairs an all day cafe with a huge downstairs wine shop (all of which you can drink on the premises). Opens 22 April.
Monty's Deli - Hoxton Monty's deli has been a fixture of Maltby Street market for a while and now they're opening a permanent spot in Hoxton. Expect their own pastrami, salt beef, bagels and more. Opens 25 April.
The General Store at The Garage - Islington The Garage in Islington is getting a bit of a refurb. Along with that, it's also getting this all-day bar at the front too.Opens 20 April.
