London smells of blossom and wild garlic at the moment- a veritable springtime bounty of fragrant flowers on every tree-lined street - and pungent leaves on woodland trails. It heralds the beginning of all manner of fresh produce arriving in London kitchens - so make sure you get out to try their wild garlic dishes (we've highlighted a few below). And there are a fair few blossom-related cocktails popping up in bars if you keep an eye out.
3-6 April: Save yourself the price of a flight to Ibiza - because the chef at the island's hotspot Lamuella, Gome Galily, will be taking up residence at L’Escargot for four nights. Dinner is £75 a head for dishes including crab truffle with quails egg and matcha profiteroles with goji berries.
6-8 April: Bestselling cookbook author Sam Stern is running a three day supperclub at Brother Marcus in Balham. The 'Greatest Hits' menu is based on recipes from his seven books. Everything will be served to share family style on communal tables and supper ends with a pot of Yorkshire Tea. Tickets are £32.
9 April: Spring-clean the body and mind with a supperclub with a difference. Feast & Flow starts with a yoga class overlooking the River Thames, followed by a two-course brunch with dishes like wild garlic hash and whipped coconut sundaes. Tickets are £37.50.
12 -13 April: South Londoner that hasn't managed to get up to Highbury pop-up Farang? Try chef Sebby Holmes food as he's teaming up with Singha for two Thai New Year nights on The Battersea Barge. Tickets are a crazily bargainous £25 per person for a three course sit-down dinner and two Singha Beers.
21 April: Head to St Katharine Docks on British Tea Day for a tea dance fuelled by a special Canton tea and homemade lemonade, sandwiches, scones and cakes by Tom's Kitchen. Runs from 12-7pm.
Blacklock - City Blacklock, famed for their chops, have just opened a second restaurant in the City. There's an extended menu with new cuts, starters, and their all-important cocktails in a 100-cover restaurant which takes bookings. (50% off soft launch until 31 March).
The Bun House - Soho The Bun House is the latest restaurant to serve up bao buns. And this place focuses mainly on takeaway - with fries made from deep-fried duck tongues.
Isabel - Mayfair The man behind Casa Cruz in Notting Hill, Juan Santa Cruz, has come into Mayfair with this small plates affair that's VERY glam.
Claude Bosi at Bibendum - South Kensington Claude Bosi returns, this time at the classic Bibendum building. There he's in charge of both the downstairs seafood restaurant and the fine dining upstairs. Opens 29 March.
Andi's - Stoke Newington Brunch spot by day and brasserie by night, Andi’s will offer the full spectrum of wholesome, on trend ingredients, including avocado mash in your energy bowl, making it a perfect fit for Stokie folk. Test weekend from 1 April.
Tamarind Kitchen - Soho Tamarind Mayfair is opening a sister restaurant on Wardrour Street, bringing with it goshts, currys and koftas galore, as well as a sharing platter with a trio of tandoor-cooked game. Opens 4 April (soft launch until 6 April).
