Anyone feeling remotely jaded by the London restaurant scene (in itself a first world problem of the highest kind) should check out the wastED pop-up at Selfridges. We can't recall the last time we experienced so much energy in a dining room. It was a wonderful United Nations of talent with America meeting Europe to brilliant effect. If you don't have reservations - keep an eye on our Instagram feed for news of a special event we're holding there before it finishes.
28 February - Head to the Curzon Soho where Bar Termini will be taking over the basement bar for the evening, offering a signature Italian cocktail and beers from Peroni for a screening of Cinema Paradiso. Tickets are £15 to include the film and a drink
1 March - the first 50 folk through the doors at the Soho launch and exhibition of Patty&Done - a collaboration between Patty & Bun and clothing company Done London will get free burgers. Tunes by friends of Done London and Patty all night.
2 March - get a sneak peak at The Cheese Bar’s takeaway hatch in Camden Market where they're teaming up with local charity SHP for a sandwich amnesty. From 12pm upgrade a shop-bought, pre-made sandwich for one of their grilled cheese ones and the donated sarnies wil go to soup and street kitchens across Camden.
8 March - celebrate International Woman's Day with a Nordic Tea at Aster. Scoff Cinnamon Buns and Smorgasbord while Executive Head Chef at Aster, Helena Puolakka and the new chef at Skylon, Kim Woodward, discuss their careers in the restaurant industry. Tickets are £10.
12 March - Dishoom’s Holi party is taking place at York Hall in Bethnal Green. During the day 12-3pm it'll be a family-friendly affair with street food from Curry On Food, Rola Wala, Horn OK Please and Spit and Roast, as well as delicious Gelato from Nonna’s. The evening party (6pm–10pm) will have all manner of music, Dishoom tipples, and a backyard street food market. Prices vary according to age and timings.
27 March - There's a reunion of chefs from MasterChef: The Professionals taking place at Adam Handling's restaurant The Frog E1 with all proceeds from the dinner going to SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Tickets will cost £150.
Balans Soho Society - Clapham Luxury and high society is the theme but not the price point at Balans, who are celebrating their 30th year by opening their latest venue in Clapham. (soft launch until March 5)
Rail House Cafe - Victoria This is a bar and restaurant from the people behind Riding House Cafe and Village East. Expect all day dining in a huge space in the Nova Victoria building. (Pay-what-you-like offer until March 3)
Lorne - Victoria This restaurant in Victoria has an ex sommelier from River cafe and an chef from Brawn, so expect a particularly good wine list and a seasonal menu to match with it.
Bokan - Canary Wharf The Novotel in Canary Wharf is getting a top floor restaurant serving modern European fair and a rooftop bar with a pretty impressive view. Opens March 1 (soft launch until March 14)
El Vino - City It's been around since the dawn of time, but now the historic London wine bar company is changing gears to open a much more modern bar in the City at London Wall. Opens March 1
Mere - Fitzrovia Recently best known for MasterChef, the ex Le Gavroche chef is opening her own place on Charlotte Street. Opens March 6
