30 Nov - 6 Dec - At The Table magazine are behind the opening of The Food Salon at Ham Yard Village in Soho - a place designed to recuperate after Christmas shopping. They'll have talks and debates about British food culture, sell handmade tableware gifts and everyone will get a free cup of speciality tea to have in a cosy armchair with some ace indie mags as reading material.
2 Dec - Top Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez is bringing his World's 50 Best restaurant Central to his London restaurant LIMA Fitzrovia for a night. The 7 course tasting menu will be £130 and include a copy of Central, the book.
4 Dec onwards - Stevie Parle’s Dalston restaurant Rotorino is launching a new all-day Sunday Roast menu. For £15 you've a choice of three roasts and sides with the menu changing regularly - think proper British roast, or maybe Porchetta. For drinks the team will crack open some top wines, selling them at a very low mark-up.
11 Dec - Trullo is putting on a Bollito Misto Feast. Tickets for the three-course Sunday lunch featuring the traditional stew as the centrepiece are £35. Email email@example.com or call 020 7226 2733.
5-11 Dec - Oslo in Hackney is hosting Cider & Balls, London’s very first Meatball & Cider festival, showcasing boutique ciders alongside a specially designed meatball menu. Profits will go to Orchid, a male cancer charity.
Cinnamon Bazaar - Covent Garden This is from the people behind Cinnamon Cafe and Cinnamon Soho with a new menu by Vivek Singh which promises a more “casual and fun format”.
Bar + Block - King's Cross Bar + Block is a huge revamp to the Premier Inn restaurant that used to be called Thyme. This time they've gone for an affordable steak restaurant as the main draw and spent an awful lot kitting it out too. Soft launch until 4 December.
Hammer and Tongs - Farringdon This restaurant will give a taste of South African barbecue with a braai grill that’s a whopping 3m in size, and a menu that's strong on South African specials. Soft launch until 4 December.
Pomona's - Notting Hill Pomona’s is a West Coast/Cali-style restaurant and bar opening in Notting Hill. And there's an American bar too. Soft launch from Nov 30 - 7 Dec.
The Gate - Marylebone Popular vegetarian restaurant The Gate is opening its next outpost in Marylebone (taking over the spot from The Lockhart). And this time they'll be offering a proper vegetarian breakfast. Opens 1 December
Jamavar - Mayfair Jamavar London is the latest outpost for the upmarket restaurant chain from India - and they've an ex-Gymkhana chef in the kitchen. Opens 1 December
