But this isn't a case of quantity over quality - there are some exceptional sounding places ready to fling open their doors to paying customers over the coming weeks. 15 November - Señor Ceviche celebrates its 2nd birthday with a special banquet. For £35 the evening kicks off with a Pisco Sour followed by a Peruvian feast, featuring some brand new dishes of tuna tacu tacu and hot mussel ceviche.
18 November - Bethnal Green pub The Sun Tavern will be celebrating International Poitin Day giving away shots of Poitín from 6pm to a soundtrack from Dublin-grown DJ Arveene with Irish Clutch Chicken serving out free soul fried wings.
19-20 November (and 26-27 November) - Tart London are taking over the kitchens on two consecutive weekends at The Richmond. The Tarty Brunch Party will feature bubbly, bloody marys and baked goods.
27 November - well regarded Edinburgh restaurant Ondine is teaming up with Wright Brothers Spitalfields for a one-off Sunday Brunch menu for St Andrews Day. The 6 course menu will feature Scottish produce brought down that day and cost £45.
30 November - the Dock Kitchen is having its annual Piemonte truffle dinner - the £65 menu includes classic dishes such as Fontina on toast and a Risotto bianco - with fresh truffles shaved over the dishes at your table. 020 8962 1610.
30 November - The Crumble Supperclub in Clapton is putting on a four course Syrian-inspired feast with auction and raffle and music - all in aid of Cook For Syria. Tickets are £35pp inclusive of all food.
Perilla - Newington Green They previously popped up at Platform 1 in East Dulwich but this sees Perilla taking their seasonal menus to Stoke Newington. Opens 15 November
Sakagura - Mayfair This is a new restaurant from the people behind Shiori and Japan Centre, with a Southern Japanese menu and they're primarily serving ‘Washoku’ which uses rice, miso and fish in each meal. Plus there's a sake bar.
Hip Chips - Soho The latest place to focus on one specific thing - Hip Chips will just be selling freshly made crisps on a conveyor belt paired with special dips. Opens 14 November(Soft launch until 15 Nov)
Aquavit - St James Aquavit found fame as a Nordic restaurant opening in the heart of New York and has been a huge success there since 1987 (earning two Michelin stars). Now they're opening in the new St James's Market development. Opens 19 November (Look out for an opening offer in Thursday's newsletter)
Hip Chips - Soho The latest place to focus on one specific thing - Hip Chips will just be selling freshly made crisps on a conveyor belt paired with special dips. Opens 18 November(Soft launch until 22 Nov)
Temple and Sons - The City This is the next restaurant from the very busy Jason Atherton and it's a very British affair. Expect a big focus on grilled meat and fish as well as an all-day deli. Opens 22 November
