Charcuterie, duck hash, celeb spotting and a great burger - Test Driving brunch at Bar Boulud

Charcuterie, duck hash, celeb spotting and a great burger - Test Driving brunch at Bar Boulud

It's fair to say that, if we were to list our favourite restaurants in London, then Bar Boulud would definitely be up there. We can't seem to stay away from the place when we're in the area (we were also back there again for dinner last Tuesday). So we were invited to try out the new Sunday brunch that we reported a few weeks ago, we jumped at the chance.

The layout is similar to the brunch at the Connaught - have us much as you can fit in from the opulent buffet and then switch to mains and desserts when you're ready. The buffet features lots of Bar Boulud specialities, including charcuterie, terrines, pates and excellent bread too, not to mention the World's Biggest Butter Dish TM.

It's possible to REALLY pig out at this stage, but make sure to hold back for the mains and desserts (included in the overall price). Those mains feature a new addition to the Boulud burger list - the brunchy burger (beef patty, bacon, mushroom, cheddar, BB brown sauce, tomato confit, fried egg, salad) and confit duck hash (which wasn't overly large, so one to order if you think you'll demolish the buffet). All this plus waffles with salted caramel and the odd star spot (Daniel Radcliffe, Jesse Eisenberg and Morgan Freeman were holding court on a nearby table) make it a fine spot for a Sunday brunch. Take a look at the full spread in the gallery below.

Bar Boulud Brunch is available every Sunday from 11am to 3.30pm. It costs £39 and there's also a ‘Little Brunch’ menu for children aged 12 and under for £25. Find out more.

Hot Dinners were invited to Bar Boulud for Brunch. Prices were correct at the time of writing.
