We wouldn't like it to be said that here at Hot Dinners we're all about what's going on north of the river, so here's news of a soft-opening launch down in Putney next week for our readers south of the Thames.

Cantinetta is a new Italian wine-bar and restaurant in Putney. Its owner, Rebecca Mascarenhas - who opened Kitchen W8 with Philip Howard - has a lot of form in South London with Sonny's in B…

Porsche on a plate: the launch of the new restaurant at Silverstone

When fast expensive cars and Michelin-starred food meet under the same roof, all is officially right with the world. This week, Hot Dinners was invited to check out the launch of the newest program at auto and dining hybrid The Porsche Restaurant at Silverstone, and we didn’t hesitate to put pedal to the metal (you'll have to excuse the motoring puns - there's going to be a few of them).

The Porsch…

The astonishingly public spat between Gordon Ramsay and his father-in-law and former CEO Chris Hutcheson has taken an even stranger turn today with the chef issuing a public letter to Hutcheson's wife and his mother-in-law Greta.

Update - see our preview of the Gilbert Scott here.

Hot Dinners tries out the Waitrose Cookery School

Hot Dinners' baking efforts have, in the past, been varied to say the least. We may be able to bake a mean brownie - but could always do with some decent training. So we were particularly pleased to be invited to be among the first to try out the new Waitrose Cookery School on the Finchley Road.

Situated above an enormous Waitrose, we were immediately struck with how brand-spanking-new everything…

Fastest pop-up in the West as Franny's opens on Frith StreetAnother day, another pop-up. But we quite like the 'let's do the show right here'-style approach of the team behind Franny's in Soho. Almost overnight (well a week actually), a bunch of do-fooders have taken over the old Bertorelli's site on the corner of Frith Street and Bateman Street.

Their Twitter page promises 'freshly homemade pizza, pasta and grills' as well as some killer martinis. They ha…

The fallout between Gordon Ramsay and his former CEO (and father-in-law) Chris Hutcheson went up a notch today with an no-holds-barred interview with Hutcheson in the Mail on Sunday.

In it, Gordon's father-in-law says he was sacked, rather than resigned and denies knowing anything about certain financial irregularities which rumour had it were behind the dismissal. ‘I have no idea where this figur…
