Wild food restaurant Native heads for Covent Garden

Wild food restaurant Native heads for Covent Garden

There's a new restaurant coming to Covent Garden with a big focus on wild food and with a River Cottage alumnus heading it up too.

Native is from Imogen Davis and Chef-Patron Ivan Tisdall-Downes, who trained at River Cottage before setting up supper clubs. They're big supporters of both nose-to-tail AND roots-to-stem eating (we wrote about that here) with a big focus on game, rare-breed meats and wild food - and they'll be looking to make them all more accessible (in price too).

Promised for the menu are:

  • Raw Sussex Venison, treacle cured pheasant egg, hayonnaise
  • Roast celeriac, whipped speltotto, Douglas fir oil, kale

And in addtion to that, they'll have Pigeon Kebab and Southern Fried Rabbit, as well as more foraged and vegetarian dishes.

Native opens in February at 3 Neals Yard, Covent Garden, WC2H. For more, follow them on Twitter @eatnativeuk
