Top chefs gather to celebrate 25 years of Michelin success at Waterside Inn

Waterside InnIt’s just as well the landing stage outside the Waterside Inn in Bray was up to the cumulative weight of hundreds of chefs. This cracking shot was sent to us, courtesy of Yes Chef! Magazine, showing all the top-name chefs who turned up  at the Berkshire village yesterday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Waterside Inn getting its third Michelin star.

The guest-list read like a Who’s Who of the restaurant world with everyone from Angela Hartnett and Raymond Blanc to Pierre Koffman, Marcus Wareing and Heston Blumenthal in attendance. Those lucky enough to get an invite enjoyed a tasting menu of 25 dishes, each taken from different menus created for the restaurant over the last quarter of a century, including a ‘Terrine de foie gras etpintadeau truffé’ from the 2010 menu and ‘Flan d’escargots en habit vert’ from the 1985 menu.

Alain Roux, celebrating with his father Michel Roux Snr, said of the star-studded guest list; ‘We have accomplished this great honour by maintaining consistently high standards and by building a team of loyal and passionate people, who totally believe in what we are doing. It seems only fitting that we should celebrate with our fellow Michelin starred chefs, both past and present, who just like us, are constantly striving for perfection.’
