In a nutshell: Ethical fried chicken in Islington
Summing it all up: The first CHIK’N was such a huge hit that they're already getting ready to open another. From the same people behind Chick n Sours, this sees them expanding their fast food operation.
We were pretty sure that CHIK’N was going to be a hit when we first wrote about the original. A fast-casual fried chicken place with an emphasis on quality and from the same people as Chick N Sours? It had hit written all over it. But even we couldn't have foreseen that it would be SO busy that they had to close the doors to re-tool for the incredible demand.
So some of that demand will be met with the news that they're gearing up to open their second CHIK’N in Islington. And as Islington locals ourselves we are both extremely excited and at the same time fear we'll start living there.
Taking over a now-defunct Costa on Upper Street (just near Islington Green), they'll be serving up the same menu of ethically sourced chicken burgers, with sides, breakfast and shakes too. So soon, if you're in Islington and fancy a snack, you'll be able to pick up a CHIK’N Hot (Sriracha sour cream, lettuce, spicy slaw) a CHIK'N Classic (Cheese & bacon, lettuce, mayo, pickles) or even a special like the CHIK’N Tiki sandwich (Limited edition hot sauce, buttermilk mayo, lettuce, pineapple, bacon & cheese).
And in addition to this - there's something new for Islington. They'll be doing an artist series for the new CHIK'N where they'll invite artists to design a sandwich for them and they'll be creating a range of t-shirts off the back of them. So expect some GREAT looking chicken sandwiches.
We'll have more news on the latest CHIK’N, including soft launch dates, soon.
